This article tells you what might be happening if you can't see where to join a course, and how to register interest for a course with no start date. For advice on joining a course with a 'Join now' button, please see How to join a free course.
You’ve found the course you’re looking for. You’ve clicked on Start dates in the top banner and found...nothing. Oh no! Will this course run again?
This happens when a course has run before, but we don’t have the next start date confirmed yet. If you’re signed into FutureLearn, you’ll see the option to add that course to your Wishlist. The Add to Wishlist button will either look like this, if there are no start dates at all:
[Image descriptor: The heading 'When would you like to start?' above a section showing a calendar icon next to 'Date to be announced' and a pink star icon next to 'Add to wishlist'. Underneath is some explainer text: "Add to Wishlist to be emailed when new dates are announced".]
Or this, if there are start dates listed but they’re not convenient for you:
[Image descriptor: a start date calendar similar to the one shown further up, but with a pink 'Join' button. The option to add the course to the Wishlist appears beneath it as text ('Not sure? Add to Wishlist'), which we have highlighted with an arrow in this example.]
"This course isn't running right now"
Sometimes you'll see a yellow banner at the top of the page that says "Sorry, this course isn't running right now." That means there are no start dates coming up and we can't guarantee the course will run in future.
However, we'll often have similar courses available, so take a moment to search for that subject in case you find something else that fits your needs.
What happens when a course is on my Wishlist?
When you’ve added a course to your Wishlist, you’ll receive an email when it next becomes available to join.
You can check which courses you’ve added to your Wishlist by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner of the page, then clicking on Wishlist.
