In this article we cover what to do with assignment submissions in both ExpertTrack and non-ExpertTrack courses which have failed to fulfil the brief given in the assignment outline. We also cover what to do with any submissions which are of more serious concern.
ExpertTrack Peer Reviews
For any assignment work that has been submitted on an ExpertTrack course which does not fit the brief that was given in the assignment outline, please give the submission a 0 mark on all grading points. This will give the learner a chance to re-submit their assignment once all marking has been completed.
This would include the following:
- An assignment missing any content whatsoever (e.g. a blank document)
- An assignment submitted via a link or downloadable file which is inaccessible (e.g. won't open, has locked permissions to view)
- An assignment which is not in the course language (e.g. an essay submitted entirely in Spanish on an English language course)
- An assignment which is completely off-topic (e.g. a picture of a flower submitted when a map of London was requested)
Non-ExpertTrack short course assignments and assignment reviews
For any assignment in a non-ExpertTrack course (i.e. in a standalone short course which is not part of a subscription only series) that you have been given to review, which has not fulfilled the brief for any of the reasons listed above, please just explain what's been missed by your fellow learner in your feedback.
Concerning content in an assignment or assignment review
This section covers both ExpertTrack and non-ExpertTrack courses. If you have a concern about an assignment or assignment review, such one containing offensive content (unless allowances for this type of content has been made in the assignment outline) or an assignment which has been stolen from another learner on the course (i.e. plagiarised work without credit), please use the flag symbol at the bottom of the step to report it to the moderators. They will then be able to review it and take action if necessary.
