Support for women in Afghanistan

FutureLearn are offering women located in Afghanistan free subscriptions for access to short courses on our platform for the duration of the Taliban’s ban on their participation in higher education.

This page is for Afghan women and their supporters and will answer common questions about this initiative.

What is FutureLearn?

FutureLearn is a website offering a wide variety of online courses created by universities and specialist organisations.

• Learners must be age 16 or over
• Most courses are delivered in English
• Most courses are between two and six weeks in length
• Courses are delivered entirely online via the website
• Courses can be started on demand and you can learn at your own pace
• It is possible to earn a digital Certificate of Achievement for successfully completing a course

Staying safe on FutureLearn

Account registration

When registering an account, consider using a different email address to the one you normally use. For added security, you may wish to use an encrypted service such as Proton Mail.

Writing comments

Learners are encouraged to post comments in FutureLearn courses, but this is not mandatory and comments do not count towards course completion.

If you would like to participate in the comments, please remember not to include personally identifiable details such as your location, names of people you know, or your circumstances.
