How do I verify my identity?

IMPORTANT: ID verification is currently unavailable except on Deakin University microcredentials. This will not impact your ability to join or complete courses, but please email [e-mail] if you need help.

Accessing the ID verification system

If you purchase a degree which requires you to verify your identity, we’ll send you a link to the identity verification system.

If you purchase a microcredential which requires you to verify your ID, you will verify your identity as part of the enrolment process.

If you have not received this email for any reason, please contact [e-mail] and we will be able to resend this for you.

How the process works

• You take or upload a picture of your ID (passport, driving licence or government-issued ID) using your webcam. 
• You take or upload a picture of your face.
• The system checks that they are pictures of the same person.

What formal identity documents do I need?

You can use:

• your passport
• your driving licence
• a government-issued ID. 

Driver’s licenses and government-issued IDs must be made out of plastic. All IDs must be valid.
