Do I have to submit an assignment?

On a short course

Peer Assignments and assignment reviews are optional. They don't count towards eligibility for a certificate, though you may need to submit an assignment in order to complete 90% of course steps.

We do encourage you to submit an assignment if you can, as this will enhance your learning experience on the course. Please make sure your assignment is your own work and that it meets all the criteria set out in the assignment submission course step.

On an ExpertTrack

Peer Graded Assignments on an ExpertTrack are mandatory. You will need to score at least 70% on your ExpertTrack course to qualify for a certificate.

Your ExpertTrack assignment will be graded by two of your fellow learners according to a checklist of criteria set out in the assignment review step. The grade they give you contributes to your overall score for the course. If you score below 70%, you will be given the opportunity to submit your assignment again.
