Important message for learners on ExpertTracks:
Leaving a course that is part of an ExpertTrack will not cancel your ExpertTrack subscription. Please see the article Managing and cancelling your ExpertTrack subscription for help with that.
To withdraw from a course:
- Click on your profile picture in the top right hand corner of the site (if you haven't uploaded a profile picture, your default profile picture will be your initials in a coloured box)
[Image description: A list of options under your account is shown, with Your learning being selected]
If your menu doesn't look like this, make sure you are on www.futurelearn.com rather than our Help Center.
- select Your Learning (and if the course hasn't started yet, change the drop down which says 'in progress' to say 'upcoming')
[Image description: The Your learning section of your account is shown, with the view 'In progress' selected from a drop down list of two options, with the second being 'Upcoming]
- click the pink text that says Leave course on the course you want to leave. An example is highlighted by a blue circle in the image below:

When you click on Leave course, you'll see a confirmation message. If you like, you can share your reason for leaving with us to help us improve our content. To confirm that you'd like to leave the course, click on the pink Leave course button as shown below:

After you leave a course you won't be able to view the course material or your progress, or get a certificate.
You can rejoin a course any time until your access expires. After this, you won't be able to rejoin the run you left, but you'll be able to join a newer run.
If you'd like us to email you when you can join the next run, click 'Add to wishlist' on the course information page.
